Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a scientifically grounded program designed for stress management through mindfulness. Developed in 1979 by Prof. Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and his team at the Stress Clinic of Massachusetts Medical School, MBSR is an eight-week program aimed at preventing and addressing stress-related symptoms such as sleep disorders, high blood pressure, anxiety, headaches, and fatigue. The program employs proven meditation practices performed while lying down, sitting, standing, and walking to foster self-awareness and acceptance, thereby reducing stress. By training mindfulness, individuals learn to recognize and manage their physical and emotional reactions to stress, promoting relaxation and creating space for personal growth and improved quality of life.
