Air France is the largest national airline in France. Since its inception in 1933, it has grown as the world's largest airline supported by France's economic development linking the colonies in Africa, the Caribbean & the Polynesian Islands in the Pacific. The merger with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in 2004 made its presence in Europe and the world even more comprehensive. Like most other companies, although it was hit by the economic recession, forcing management to re-evaluate after facing the recession that hit Air France.
