The Emirates Center for Mobility Research (ECMR), established at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) in 2004, focuses on advancing research in road engineering, transportation, and traffic safety. Its mission is to develop a safe, efficient, environmentally friendly, and integrated transportation system by facilitating interdisciplinary research. ECMR consists of five specialized research groups: Efficient Infrastructure, Green Mobility, Connected and Automated Mobility, Integrated Mobility, and Safe Mobility. These groups aim to address key challenges in sustainable transportation and road safety. In June 2023, ECMR became the first academic research entity in the UAE to join the International Road Federation (IRF), fostering international collaboration to enhance transportation systems.
