The Roberto Longhi Art History Studies Foundation was founded in 1971 by Roberto Longhi's will, with his library, photo library and art collection as a gift "for the benefit of the younger generations". It is based in the villa “Il Tasso” which Longhi purchased in 1939 and where he lived until his death with his wife Lucia Lopresti (the writer Anna Banti). The Foundation encourages the development of art history studies by keeping alive the cultural heritage and Roberto Longhi's method, with research grants and prizes, courses and seminars.
