The Japan Meteorological Agency (気象庁, Kishō-chō), abbreviated JMA, is an agency of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. [4] Tasked with collecting and providing results to the public in Japan obtained from data based on daily scientific observations and research of natural phenomena in the fields of meteorology, hydrology, seismology and volcanology, among other related scientific fields. Its head office is located in Minato, Tokyo.
