R2E2, or the Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund, was established in 2006 by the Armenian government. Its primary mission is to promote investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects throughout Armenia. The fund operates as an independent non-governmental organization and has managed over 15 projects with investments exceeding $40 million. It focuses on reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, particularly in non-gasified communities, and supports the development of solar and geothermal energy initiatives​
