The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is located in Al Ain and holds the distinction of being the country's first and oldest university, founded in 1976 by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. As a public research institution, it was established to meet the growing need for skilled professionals across sectors such as engineering, law, business, and healthcare. The university initially admitted students in 1977 and has since expanded both academically and infrastructurally to cater to the evolving demands of the UAE's economy.
