The GSSJ Ratulangi statue, situated within the grounds of the KRIS College Foundation on Jl. Sam Ratulangi No. 26 in Menteng, Central Jakarta, serves as a poignant tribute to the enduring legacy of Gerungan Saul Samuel Jacob Ratulangie, fondly known as Sam Ratulangi. This revered figure played a pivotal role in Indonesia's national movement, serving as a member of the People's Council (Volksraad) during the Dutch East Indies era and later as Governor of Sulawesi from 1945 to 1946. Created by sculptor Arsono from Arsono Sculpture Studio (ARSTUPA) in Rawamangun, Jakarta, the statue is a bronze bust three times the size of a real human, mounted on a 1.25-meter-high pedestal atop a 2 x 6-meter platform. The meticulous crafting process, spanning eight months, utilized clay from Karan Anyar, Central Java, for the mold, with the casting conducted in Yogyakarta by Gardono. The statue's inauguration, overseen by Governor Tjokropranolo of DKI Jakarta, marks a solemn celebration of Ratulangi's unwavering dedication and service to the nation, immortalizing his memory for generations to come.
