The Batutulis inscription, nestled in the heart of Batutulis village, South Bogor, West Java, stands as a testament to the rich history of the ancient Sunda Kingdom. Dating back to 1533, this revered relic is situated within the historic capital of Pakuan Pajajaran, its name derived from the inscribed stone that still resides in situ. Spanning a complex measuring 17 x 15 meters, Batutulis houses several other inscribed stones, all treasures of the Sunda Kingdom's legacy. Crafted by King Surawisesa, the inscriptions pay homage to his esteemed father, the illustrious King Sri Baduga Maharaja, affectionately known as Ratu Haji Pakuan Pajajaran Sri Sang Ratu Dewata or King Siliwangi in local lore. These ancient inscriptions, penned in the Old Sundanese language, offer a glimpse into the kingdom's grandeur and the enduring legacy of its revered monarchs.
