    Makhtesh Ramon is located on the summit of the Negev Mountains, about 85 km south of the city of Beersheba, Israel. It is the largest makhtesh in the world, measuring 40 km long and 2–10 km wide. The only settlement in the area is the small town of Mitzpe Ramon.
