    General Information

De Willemskerk, or The Willem's Church, was a historical church located in Batavia (now Jakarta), Indonesia. Constructed during the Dutch colonial period in the 19th century, the church was named after King Willem I of the Netherlands. It served as a place of worship for the Dutch colonial community and was renowned for its neoclassical architecture, featuring grand columns, arched windows, and a prominent dome. De Willemskerk was one of the notable landmarks in Batavia, reflecting the Dutch colonial influence on the city's urban landscape. Unfortunately, the church was demolished in the mid-20th century, and its site is now occupied by modern buildings. However, its memory lives on as a part of Jakarta's rich historical heritage.
